I am a BACP registered psychotherapist with experience in couples, group and individual counselling for adults. I work with a broad frame of reference to counselling techniques including a deep focus in Schema Therapy.
Schema Therapy is my first passion as it works with broad feelings of ‘something is not quite right’ depression, negative cycles of behaviour, long patterns of relationship dysfunction, feelings of dissatisfaction in life, low self-esteem and no matter how hard you work or what you achieve nothing is quite good enough. Feeling like a part of you is always down on yourself or difficult periods of your life you know are in the past but feel very much like they are with you now.
Schema Therapy empowers you to bring self-awareness compassion and healing into your life and we can use this sense of healing and freedom to help you move forward in your life.
I am here for you, in your unique experiences, I am here to help. I provide one to one therapy session.
I have theoretical and practical experience with my professional training at BACP.
I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow and heal you.
You may be experiencing depression, fear and/or anxiety and I am here to help you through these common and uncomfortable feelings. I will assist you in the support you need to free yourself from these negative emotions.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger through post traumatic events., I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process towards healing.
Relationship counselling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
Schema Therapy believes that we, as humans all began life with needs, a baby needs comfort, feeding, changing and depends on care-givers for their moment by moment care, this need is universal and is not negotiable. As we grow our needs and independence grow and adapt with our environment and our own temperament. When these needs are not met from home, school or periods of absences or trauma we can feel deeply let down, hurt, misunderstood, abandoned or a personal sense of failure which we can carry throughout our lives. When we meet difficulties that mirror these past hurts we can find our ability to cope becomes less and less effective and our despair, anger or loss of self-care can grow.
I enjoy the journey with my clients from hurt and confusion to awareness and health and would like to get to know you and see what we can do to bring you the peace and healing you need.
